3 Tips to Stop Impulse Buying

3 Tips to Stop Impulse Buying

Are you struggling to stop those random quick purchases that you later regret? Here are my top 3 tips to stop the impulse buying that is busting your budget.

  1. Remove your card information from websites. If your card information is not saved, then you will have to go through the process of pulling out your wallet to look up your card number which will help create a buffer of time, thought, and effort. This will in turn help you realize whether you really need that item or not.
  2. Unsubscribe from marketing email lists. And yes, this means even from your favorite stores. You’re less likely to justify needing to purchase that super cute dress when it goes on the annual sale if you don’t know that it’s the annual sale. (Plus, you will really only actually wear that dress one time because it’s so nice that you’re scared to wear it and mess it up…speaking from personal experience here.)
  3. Make your coffee at home. This may not seem like it is related, but for all of us coffee lovers out there, all of those last minute trips through the Starbucks drive-thru add up! I know that my go-to order is currently at $8. Not to mention that I usually also get my husband something as well. A trip for both of us is easily $15 each time. Where as when we make coffee at home, even with all of the fancy extra syrups and flavors, it’s less than $2 for both of us. That is a huge difference!

These are just my top 3 tips to help get those impulse purchases under control.
